Collinsville teen distracted by her cell phone causes accident

(Via Oologah Lake Leader) A state trooper said a Collinsville teen distracted by her cell phone caused a two-vehicle crash in rural Oologah Saturday morning.

Trooper Scott Shropshire said 17-year-old Bobbi Rogers was driving her 2002 Pontiac Sunfire East on County Road 420 and failed to yield at the stop sign at County Road 4060. Jody Hacker, 35, of Oologah was driving her 2005 GMC Envoy South on 4060 and struck Rogers' vehicle on the driver's side fender.

Rogers was taken by OTEMS ambulance to St. Francis Hospital where she was admitted in stable condition with trunk internal and head injuries.

Jody Hacker refused treatment at the scene and her children, three-year-old Trevor and two-month-old Alexis, were not injured, the trooper said.

Shropshire said in his report that Rogers failed to yield because she was distracted by her cell phone.
